What Attributes Make a Top-Notch Content Marketer?

social-brand-chat

This week on Social Brand Chat presented by KXIC we discussed a question from Ann McGlynn of St. Paul Lutheran Church who asked, “What is the most important attribute of a top-notch content marketer?” As more brands create more content than ever before, many are looking for more content marketers. But what skills are most important when it comes to creating all of this content? Let’s chat about this.

Jay and I had a lot of fun discussing this topic from Ann. Simply put, one of the most critical attributes for marketers who now find themselves in the business of creating content is to remember to think — and act — like a publisher (or broadcaster). That means creating and respecting deadlines that help set audience expectations and build your muscles as a content creator. Just as people know when to tune into KXIC for the Social Brand Chat, you need to maintain a schedule for your brand’s content as well.

For this week’s social media news we shared that this week marks Twitter’s 8th birthday. In celebration of this, the social giant is offering a fun way to look back on your history with the network. By going to first-tweets.com you can see what your first tweet was. (My first tweet was far from profound.)

Speaking of taking your digital marketing to the next level — Registration is open for this year’s Social Brand Forum at the Iowa River Landing.
