Short Bio

Nick Westergaard is an author, educator, and speaker who helps leaders and marketers connect with their audiences through story. He teaches at the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business, where he leads the Story Lab program, and produces and hosts three podcasts: On Brand, Tippie Leads, and Hoover 360. He’s the author of Brand Now and Get Scrappy, a contributor to the Harvard Business Review, and a Moth StorySLAM Champion. His work helps leaders find their voice, share their story, and make an impact.

Nick Westergaard is an author, educator, and speaker who helps leaders and marketers connect with their audiences through story. He’s spent his career helping organizations find their voice and earn attention—from small businesses and startups to Fortune 500 companies and President Obama’s Jobs Council. Nick teaches leadership communication and storytelling at the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business, where he leads the Story Lab program.

Nick is the author of Brand Now and Get Scrappy, a contributor to the Harvard Business Review, and a Moth StorySLAM Champion. He serves on the board of trustees of the Hoover Presidential Foundation and produces and hosts three podcasts: On Brand, Tippie Leads, and Hoover 360.

On Brand with Nick Westergaard Podcast Assets

A/V Requirements

Nick creates visual presentations designed to engage and excite your audience. Because he wants your event to be a success and he knows the presentation works on his computer, Nick presents from his own laptop.

During the presentation, all podiums, chairs, stools, stands, etc. should be moved to either side of the stage. Nick does not use a podium during his presentation, other than to hold the laptop, if required by stage setup.

Nick Brings:

  • His MacBook Air
  • VGA and HDMI dongles
  • A wireless presentation clicker
  • A Keynote presentation designed for 16X9 screens (a slide PDF is always provided for attendees after the event and can be made available beforehand if requested)

Nick Needs:

  • A wireless lavalier or headset microphone
  • AC outlet to power his laptop
  • A projector (VGA or HDMI input)
  • A speaker system with audio output for his laptop
  • A confidence monitor or laptop placement on stage
